Political Action

Educators deserve to have their voice heard in policy decisions about public education. That’s why the PHEA and the MEA work hard to keep members informed about what’s happening in Lansing and Washington, and help raise the voices of school employees on these critical issues.
Since dues dollars cannot be contributed to political candidates, your contributions to MEA-PAC go to supporting pro-public education candidates in local and state races in Michigan, while contributions to the NEA Fund support friends of public education running for federal office.

Each election year the PHEA, MEA, and NEA invite each political candidate to meet with us and discuss educational issues.  Our goal is determine which candidates will be pro-public education and have our members support them.
