Quick Contract Tips
Student discipline: The District believes that a staff member should be able to work in an environment free of threatening speech or actions. Threatening behavior consisting of any words or deeds that intimidate a staff member or cause anxiety concerning his/her physical and/or psychological well-being is strictly forbidden. See page 32 of the contract.
Class size: See page 27/28 of the contract.
Grievance Procedures: See Appendix A page 46 of the contract.
Leave Days: Teachers have 12 leave days a year. You can make 3 of these personal "none of your business" days per year. See page 10 of the contract.
Salary Schedules: See page 51 of the contract.
Cash in Lieu: The district is offering $1,200 to $1,500 for opting out of insurance. The amount is based on the total who opt for it. You may opt for cash-in-lieu during Open Enrollment in November. See page 39 of the contract.
Retirement Incentive (Pay for days in your leave bank): Accumulated Sick Leave pays out for 90 or more days at $30 per day, for 70 days to 89.9 days at $28 per day, for 50 days to 69.9 days at $25 per day. In order to receive the payment, the teacher shall not use more than 30 days of leave in the final year. The teacher must notify the District by March 1, for retirement at the end of the school year,or 90 days before the retirement date if at any other time during the school year.
